Chide

The rare verb 'to chide' may be found in many Early Modern English texts, such as the Authorised Version. It is not much used nowadays. It has been replaced by 'to rebuke', or, less formally, by 'to tell off'.
'To chide' is an irregular verb. Its forms are given here:
