A category containing texts of some Christian songs that are widely referenced, but may in the modern world, where Christian worship is no longer the normal behaviour of most of the population of the UK, require explanation. This category contains mostly the songs sung in Latin, the universal language of Christian worship in Western Europe until the sixteenth century, and in the Roman Catholic church until the twentieth century.
